Randy Armknecht

Randy Armknecht is currently leading Protiviti’s Global Cloud consulting practice which provides a variety of services that enable clients to operate with confidence in their cloud environment. With nearly 20 years in the field he has experienced a variety of roles from developer and network admin to lead investigator and global architect. He applies these diverse industry experiences to approach technology problems with proven perspective. Randy is a frequent speaker on the topic of cybersecurity and cloud computing at venues such as conferences, IIA/ISACA chapter meetings, executive sessions, and as a guest lecturer at multiple universities.

MAJOR PROJECTS

Cloud Computing – Architecture & Security:

• Evaluated and refined the cloud strategy of a $7Bn technology organisation bringing new SaaS products to market in a multi-cloud environment
• Served on an Enterprise Architecture Review Board that oversaw multiple cloud deployments at a global financial organisation (SaaS and IaaS)
• Worked with a leading global consumer products company to design an identity and access management solution and security evaluation process for cloud services deployed across the globe
• Assisted a financial services institution with analysing and developing a business case to migrate to cloud infrastructure
• Evaluated the asset management and financial spend per asset and per department in the cloud for a large health insurance provider

Secure Systems Development:

• Lead the design of security integration into CI/CD pipeline for a leading global insurance provider
• Leveraged his technical expertise in the evaluation of a Bluetooth based communications protocol between an IoT device and mobile application
• Lead the design of compliance as code automation for a P&C provider’s cloud environment
